Meta released its Muse AI assistant in a dedicated iPad app just one month after its initial mobile debut. The rapid expansion highlights Meta's strong focus on artificial intelligence, outpacing milestones achieved by older platforms like Instagram. Since launching on iOS and Android on September 8, Muse has surpassed 6.6 million installs according to Sensor Tower estimates.

The consumer-facing AI agent allows users to connect various accounts to manage emails, schedule meetings, pay bills, and complete tasks like booking reservations and making purchases. Alongside the iPad launch, Meta expanded its ecosystem of integrations, known as connectors, adding tools for small businesses and productivity like Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, GitHub, Notion, and Zoom, alongside retail partners such as Walmart and Best Buy.

To address challenges where websites mistake AI agents for malicious bots, Meta announced it is collaborating with industry partners on an open standard for agent identification. This technical solution aims to help businesses properly authenticate legitimate personal assistants. This expansion demonstrates the rapid commercial scaling of consumer-facing AI agents across multiple platforms.
