Meta expanded its Muse AI agent with real-time video chats, dedicated email addresses, and Mac app control during Meta Connect 2026. In the coming months, the assistant will also launch on Meta's smart glasses to convert conversations into actionable tasks like scheduling meetings and updating shopping lists.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg additionally introduced the Muse Charm, a Tamagotchi-style device featuring a two-inch screen, 5G connectivity, and a proprietary operating system ahead of a December shipment. Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth described the device as an exploratory concept rather than the primary focus of Meta's hardware strategy.
Alongside the AI agent updates, Meta revealed new Ray-Ban Meta Audio Glasses starting at 349 euros and third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses at 449 euros, with VR glasses slated for spring 2027 at $1,299. The company also announced plans to integrate its Private Processing privacy system to safeguard user data on the glasses, though no timeline was provided.
Why it matters: These hardware and software announcements expand Meta's consumer AI ecosystem into wearable devices and desktop control.
