Wabi, an AI startup founded by Replika creator Eugenia Kuyda, has raised $55 million in a new funding round that brings its valuation to $1.25 billion. The recent investment was led by IVP with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner, the Amazon Alexa Fund, and notable angel investors including Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

Initially launched to let users build applications through prompts, the startup recently pivoted to become an AI messenger dubbed Wabi 2.0. The platform now operates as a personal AI agent designed to dynamically create custom mini interfaces for tasks such as meal planning, tracking local restaurants, planning date nights, creating fitness routines, and designing specialized trivia games.

The substantial capital injection highlights strong investor appetite for agentic artificial intelligence applications that extend beyond traditional chat interfaces and command lines. Wabi joins other recent high-profile funding events in the consumer AI space, such as companion maker Tolan securing $30 million and viral AI agent Instinct drawing massive backing.

This funding matters because it underscores the growing investor confidence in conversational AI agents capable of generating functional, real-time mini applications for everyday consumer tasks.
