Eugenia Kuyda has officially launched Wabi for all users, realizing a 12-year-old vision for a lifestyle concierge chatbot she originally pitched at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2012. Twelve years ago, Kuyda’s startup Luka created a conversational concierge called IO before deep learning breakthroughs made modern large language models possible. After later founding the popular companion app Replika and stepping down as CEO last year, Kuyda started Wabi to finally build the advanced personal assistant technology she originally imagined.

Wabi debuts as a multiplayer personal AI assistant structured as a messenger app, allowing users to maintain multiple agentic threads dedicated to long-term goals and specific tasks. Unlike single-thread assistants that accumulate excessive context and degrade over time, Wabi organizes interactions across separate threads such as health, family, or relationships. The system automatically creates custom apps and threads when connected to a user's email, eliminating the need for manual app building while supporting shared group chats where multiple people can interact with the same agentic threads and mini-apps.

This launch matters because it introduces a novel multithreaded and multiplayer approach to personal AI assistants, moving beyond solitary chatbot conversations to collaborative group experiences.
