Meta announced during its third-quarter earnings call that its AI app Muse has surpassed 10 million users, with shopping emerging as a top activity. CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted that about 25% of engaged users utilize the app daily, and more than a quarter of users shopping via the AI agent recorded an average purchase size exceeding $200. The app utilizes Plaid's financial connector to facilitate agentic shopping, leading to unprecedented activity levels noted by Plaid partners. Beyond commerce, popular uses include productivity tasks linked to personal emails and calendars, supported by security features like Muse Secure VM.

Meta plans to scale the AI agent, increase revenue, and optimize compute costs now that the application has achieved product-market fit. Zuckerberg stated that Muse is forecasted to eventually generate higher revenue per user than Meta's traditional family of apps, with monetization driven by commerce commissions and paid tiers for advanced models or additional tokens. Although current operations are compute-intensive, Meta expects to improve cost efficiency by more than 10 times over the next year to achieve profitability at scale.

Muse will also integrate centrally with Meta's smart glasses strategy developed by Reality Labs, while future plans include a Muse network allowing different agents to interact with each other. This growth reflects Meta's broader push into agent-driven commerce and productivity tools.
