Startup Honeyjar is introducing artificial intelligence tools designed to improve public relations and communications workflows for companies of all sizes. Founded by industry veterans Michelle Masek and Nadia Jamshidi, the startup aims to scale senior-level PR expertise and judgment, helping founders and unassigned communicators navigate marketing challenges. Honeyjar automates tasks such as writing announcements, finding journalists, building media lists, scanning news, tracking coverage, and identifying speaking opportunities.

The platform is designed not to replace human communicators, but to enhance efficiency for in-house teams, agencies, and individual practitioners while keeping humans in the loop to review and send messages. Honeyjar gained early traction by securing 10,000 signups within the first 24 hours of opening its waitlist, with beta testers including Nextdoor, Coco Robotics, Bloomberg Beta, Mission North, and Full Picture. Through an initiative called the Comms Lab, the founders are training the product on the collective wisdom of seasoned PR professionals.

This development matters because it highlights how specialized vertical workflows are increasingly being targeted by generative artificial intelligence, bridging the gap between high-level strategic expertise and execution for resource-constrained teams.
