Spotify has rolled out its AI-powered Taste Profile feature to U.S. Premium subscribers, giving listeners a direct way to view and modify how the platform understands their musical preferences. Unveiled initially in beta in New Zealand following an announcement at SXSW by co-CEO Gustav Söderström, the tool now arrives in Spotify's largest market for users aged 18 and up.

Powered by Spotify’s artificial intelligence, the feature allows users to request changes using natural language commands to fine-tune recommendations across music, podcasts, and audiobooks. Listeners can ask for more variety, adjust specific genres, or remove unwanted influences like sleep sounds or children's music from impacting algorithmic suggestions found in playlists like Discover Weekly and Spotify Wrapped.

Users can access the beta feature through their mobile app profile settings by typing adjustments into a text prompt, with updates reflecting on their home page within a few hours. This gives subscribers unprecedented control over recommendation algorithms that traditionally struggled to adapt to evolving or mixed listening habits.
