Meta's new AI application Muse has achieved higher early download numbers and daily active users than ChatGPT did during its initial launch phase, according to market intelligence estimates from Apptopia. Comparing U.S. and Canada iOS data during the first 12 days, Muse recorded 1.8 million downloads compared to 1.3 million for ChatGPT. Furthermore, Muse reached 2.8 million total global installs in its first 12 days, rising to the top spot on the U.S. App Store.

The intelligence firm also reported that Muse secured 642,000 U.S. daily active users, significantly outperforming the 231,000 daily users ChatGPT had at the same milestone. Even when narrowing the evaluation strictly to iOS users in the U.S. and Canada, Muse maintained a lead with 359,000 daily active users. While these findings rely on third-party estimates rather than direct internal metrics from Meta, they suggest strong early demand for the social media giant's latest artificial intelligence tool.

Meta's existing cross-promotion strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp appears to support this growth, as over 95 percent of Muse users also use Facebook. Although Meta has not yet released official public adoption metrics, the early data indicates the application is positioned to become the company's next major mobile success. Why it matters: This rapid early adoption highlights how deeply integrated social media ecosystems can successfully accelerate consumer artificial intelligence product distribution.
