Melius announced on Tuesday that it raised a total of $25 million in funding, featuring a $20 million Series A led by CRV and a $5 million seed round led by General Catalyst. The New York-based startup, founded by former Ramp engineers Joowon Kim, Young Kim, and Arnav Ramu, provides an AI platform for generating ad campaigns, images, and videos.

The company originally launched over a year ago as a performance marketing tool, but the co-founders scrapped their entire codebase after realizing the initial idea lacked traction. They pivoted to focus on tools that directly generate creative assets and campaigns, eventually reaching over $1 million in annualized revenue within two months of coming out of stealth in July. Melius now competes with other players in the space, such as Higgsfield, Krea, and Flora AI.

This funding is important because it demonstrates investor confidence in generative AI tools designed to streamline creative asset production for marketers and brands.
