Manus 2.0 has been released as an AI agent platform that lets users edit videos, host multiplayer games, and run personal agents remotely from their phones. The updated system introduces the Cascade agent harness, which achieved a 23.2 percent reduction in token usage and a 32 percent decrease in running costs compared to previous iterations. Additionally, automations can now be triggered by events such as incoming emails or Slack messages, while Computer Use capabilities allow the software to interact with approved local files and applications.

The update introduces Manus Studio, a desktop application featuring dedicated Video Editor and Game Dev environments that allow users to manually adjust outputs, supported by cloud computers that keep game servers running. Furthermore, a separate application named Cue assigns each agent its own email address, wallet, and computer, with Cue currently available in free early access via invite codes.

Meta previously acquired Manus in late 2025 before the deal was unwound due to blocking by Beijing, and Tencent has since negotiated for the largest stake in the startup. Meanwhile, Meta has shifted its focus to its own Muse agent, which similarly provides users with a cloud computer. This release matters because it expands the capabilities of mobile-managed AI agents into heavy tasks like video editing and game hosting while improving cost efficiency.
