Google has updated its Chrome browser with an advanced AI-powered autofill capability designed to pull relevant details directly from a user's Gmail account to complete online forms. Announced on Wednesday, this new feature helps users quickly input difficult-to-find data such as flight confirmation numbers, membership IDs, tracking information, order numbers, addresses, phone numbers, and credit card numbers by referencing their emails.
This enhancement represents an expansion of Google’s Personal Intelligence framework, which previously enabled users to connect their Google Apps to the Gemini AI assistant to retrieve details and answer complex questions. Users maintain control over the experience and can choose whether to enable the enhanced autofill feature within their Chrome settings, while Google notes that sensitive data remains encrypted.
The new capability is currently rolling out to users in the United States across desktop browsers as well as iOS and Android applications for Gemini in Chrome. This update makes the browser easier to use and strengthens user retention within Google's growing artificial intelligence ecosystem. By simplifying everyday digital tasks through intelligent data retrieval, Google aims to provide a more integrated and seamless web navigation experience.
