Meta has launched Style Sketch, a new artificial intelligence fashion app that helps users create outfit ideas using clothing they already own. The application connects to Instagram to build a virtual closet from previously posted photos, while also allowing manual additions through pictures, short videos, or camera roll uploads. Once populated, Style Sketch generates personalized outfit combinations and lets users virtually try them on a realistic model matched to their specific body shape and skin tone.

Spotted initially by social media consultant Matt Navarra, the app is currently available for iOS and Android devices in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. Meta has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding broader international rollout plans. The application faces existing competition in the digital wardrobe space from startups like Alta and tools provided within Google Photos.

To differentiate itself, Meta is leveraging deep integration with Instagram to utilize existing visual records of personal style. Beyond basic wardrobe management, Style Sketch includes features for selecting individual items to build specific looks and planning day-by-day travel outfits based on weather forecasts, destinations, and itineraries. This release follows a string of recent AI application rollouts from Meta, driven by efficiency gains that allow the company to ship products much faster.

This release matters because it demonstrates Meta's broader strategy to leverage AI-driven efficiencies to rapidly prototype and release a high volume of consumer-facing mobile applications.
